Grupo Amistad is an Educational-social networking group open to all VeryHuman members. The first hour of the meeting is education, while the second hour is reserved for social activities.
Every week, Vilma and Frank, Grupo Amistad's group presenters, presents a topic of discussion or invites someone from a different area of expertise to present an educational topic. After the presentation, a free dinner is provided to group members. There is a second social hour, where members are encouraged to share information related to services, job opportunities, activities, hobbies, and anything else of common goal or interest.
Grupo Amistad's goal is to provide a safe, welcoming and fun environment where the members can connect with other peers and seek support when necessary.
“You are not alone."
Most importantly, the focus is to find useful resources to advocate for LGBT rights, including social and economic justice, and appropriate psychological care. We inform our members on local, state and provincial laws that protect transgender people from discrimination.
