Our primary focus is providing lifestyle education and creating room for healing and self-sufficiency.
An HIV diagnosis can turn an individual's life upside down. Often times, a person can retreat into isolation due to misconceptions and stigma around HIV.
However, connection is a 'VeryHuman' need. Thus VeryHuman heavily emphasizes a culture of collaboration and support.
Our Community Education program currently hosts six social education groups. Each group is led by a facilitator who presents a new topic of interest (e.g.,arts, lifestyle, science) and helps run the group's discussion and/or activities. Groups currently meet monthly or weekly and are available to both Spanish and English speakers.
Our groups provide a fun and alternative space for individuals to meet and make new friends, appreciate one another’s stories, and build a vibrant empowered community.
Topics are presented based on assessment of community and workforce needs or interests.
Community social groups are free to attend and RSVP is not necessary, unless stated otherwise.
